  • Claimant sustained an injury to the back and shoulder when moving a large box at a part-time employer. Claimant treated with physical therapy, X-rays, and medications.  Claimant was diagnosed with a lumbosacral strain, and shoulder strain.  Following conservative treatment, Claimant was ultimately released to full duty employment.

 

 

  • Injury: Traumatic brain injury, post-concussive migraines, cognitive difficulties, dizziness, light sensitivity, vision loss, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

  • Amount: $519,379.00.
  • Client was working in an excavator in a slag yard when the slag exploded. The injured worker was thrown violently around the excavator and sustained significant injuries to his entire body.  His was diagnosed with a cerebral arteriovenous malformation and underwent a Cyber Knife stereotactic radio surgical procedure for a cerebral fossa arteriovenous fistula.  He also underwent two separate trabeculectomies; one to each eye.  The injuries to his eyes caused ongoing light sensitivity and vision loss.  As a result of the traumatic brain injury, the Claimant was diagnosed with post-concussive migraines, cognitive difficulties, and dizziness.  As a result of his injuries and the length of time for his recovery, the worker developed depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and post-traumatic stress disorder.  The worker also sustained injuries to his neck, shoulder, back, and knee.  For the neck, he received a dorsal root ganglion block.  The treating physicians indicated that the injured worker was not able to return to suitable gainful employment.

  • Amount: $104,000.00 for dependency (5 years of benefits due to decedent being 65 years old at the time of death) and $7,000.00 for funeral expenses.
  • Worker fell from a scaffolding, sustained a traumatic brain injury that ultimately led to his untimely death.

  • Claimant is a retired Baltimore City Police officer who sustained an herniated disc injury to his back. This was the worker’s third worsening of condition reopening for additional permanent partial disability.
